Deirdre has vast experience in Otolaryngology/ Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery. She completed her Higher Surgical Training in Ireland, and has worked in the specialty in Ireland, Australia and the United Kingdom. She has been the winner of two Royal Academy of Medicine in Ireland medals for ENT.

Deirdre has attained the Diploma of Head and Neck Surgery, competed a Masters in Surgery with her Masters Thesis on The Effects of Tonsillectomy on Voice and Speech, and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (FRCSI ORL-HNS) in 2014. She has presented her research at international meetings. Deirdre has advanced Fellowship training in Rhinology and Facial Plastic Surgery, which she completed in London 2015-2016, following time spent as a consultant in St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin.

Deirdre founded Fitzgerald Private Clinic Dublin in 2017, and operates at the Beacon Hospital. She also holds clinics in the Beacon Hospital, Beacon Wexford and at the Donegal branch of Fitzgerald Private Clinic.

She sees adults and children, and practices the full spectrum of Ear Nose and Throat, while also providing subspecialist care for nose, sinus and facial plastic issues.

Deirdre provides the only current Entellus Balloon Sinuplasty service in Ireland and has pioneered Balloon Eustachian Tube Dilatation in Ireland.
